Studio Policies
To ensure our partnership is both successful and fulfilling, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following important policies. I look forward to working together!
Payment Policies
Please come prepared to pay for each lesson on the day the lesson happens. I gladly accept payments in the form of cash, check, or Venmo. Late payments may result in the postponement of lessons until the payment is made.
Scheduling and Cancellation
If a student can't attend a lesson, they should let me know at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule or receive credit for a future lesson. As a mother and professional musician, my schedule may need some flexibility from you. If I have to cancel a lesson, I will offer a makeup lesson or credit soon.
Tardiness
Please arrive at your lesson on time. Many lessons are scheduled back-to-back, while other lessons are followed by a scheduled break time for me. If you are running late for your lesson, please let me know.
Practice Policy
Students should practice regularly to see improvement. I suggest at least 30 minutes a day for beginners, increasing as you advance. Use a music journal to note any questions, observations, and challenges to discuss in your next lesson.
Illness Policy
Please do not come to an in-person lesson if you are sick. It is not a good idea to bring germs into a space where many vocalists come to sing! When in doubt, cancel 24 hours in advance or move the lesson online that day.
Studio Classes
As vocalists, it's essential to perform whenever you can. Studio classes allow you to practice performing in a relaxed setting. I will hold several of these classes throughout the year, free of charge. I encourage all students to perform a piece and enjoy listening to others. It's a great way to learn outside of private lessons and meet fellow singers. It’s also a great opportunity to bring a friend who might be interested in lessons!
